SEL-2515
Remote I/O Module
- The SEL-2515 is a remote I/O module designed to provide additional digital inputs and outputs for SEL communications processors. Installed in remote locations such as substation yards, it provides a safe and reliable link between field devices and communications processors, increasing the availability of SCADA and station integration systems.
Key Features
-
Digital I/O Expansion
Equipped with eight digital inputs to monitor the status of external contacts and eight contact outputs to execute control commands. -
High-Speed Data Transmission
Transmits input status via "SEL Fast Meter" messages and provides rapid control of contact outputs using "SEL Fast Operate" commands. -
Enhanced Cyber and Physical Safety
Replaces traditional control wiring with fiber-optic cables to eliminate exposure to ground potential rise (GPR) and other dangerous voltages, thereby protecting personnel. -
Electromagnetic Immunity and Reliability
Utilizes fiber-optic links to prevent data errors caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI). The communications processor monitors the link in real-time and triggers an alarm if the cabling is damaged or disconnected. -
Rugged Environmental Durability
Operates reliably in extreme industrial environments with a wide operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +85°C.
Convenience features
-
Intuitive Status Diagnostics
Front-panel LEDs allow for at-a-glance monitoring of each I/O contact's position and the unit’s overall operational status (ENABLE). -
Lamp Test Function
Includes a dedicated pushbutton on the front panel to easily verify that all LED indicators are functioning correctly. -
Hardware-Based Configuration
Basic operating parameters can be easily set on-site using internal DIP switches without the need for complex software configuration. -
Flexible Power Supply
Offers various models to match different voltage requirements, including 24 Vdc, 48/125 Vdc/Vac, and 125/250 Vdc/Vac. -
Simplified Installation and Maintenance
Features a compact design for space efficiency and reduces overall installation time and costs by minimizing copper wiring.
