SEL-2516
Rack-Mount Remote I/O Module
- The SEL-2516 is a rack-mount remote I/O module designed to add digital input and output capabilities to SEL communications processors. This device enhances SCADA functions and improves engineering access, allowing for more reliable and cost-effective system integration compared to using traditional Remote Terminal Units (RTUs).
Key Features
-
Digital I/O Expansion
Provides eight status-sensing inputs to monitor external contacts and eight contact outputs for executing control commands. -
Enhanced Safety
Replaces control wiring to outside cabinets with fiber-optic cables to eliminate paths for dangerous voltages and protect personnel. -
Increased Dependability
Utilizes fiber-optic links to prevent data errors caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI). The communications processor monitors the link status and triggers an alarm if communications are interrupted. -
Integrated Operating Environment
Integrates with SEL communications processors and protective relays to provide SCADA functions, power system report management, and high-speed local logic without the need for additional equipment. -
Rugged Environmental Durability
Supports a wide operating temperature range from -40°C ~ +85°C for stable performance in extreme industrial environments.
Convenience features
-
Standard Rack-Mount Design
Designed to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack (2U height), ensuring easy integration into existing panels and systems. -
Screw-Terminal Connectorized (STC) Blocks
Features patented STC blocks that allow for the rapid installation and removal of the module without disturbing the individual wiring during maintenance. -
Customizable LED Labels
Users can print configurable labels for the LEDs to clearly identify and display the status of all I/O points. -
Back-Panel Switches
Allows for the easy setup of operating parameters on-site using switches on the back panel without complex software procedures. -
Intuitive Status Indication
Features front-panel LED indicators to provide real-time status for all I/O points and includes a Lamp Test function to easily verify LED operation.
