SEL-2600

RTD Module

The SEL-2600 is a standalone RTD module designed to precisely measure and transmit thermal data from critical power apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, motors, and generators. By being installed directly next to the equipment, it minimizes the need for expensive RTD cable runs and provides a safe, reliable thermal monitoring system by transmitting data to SEL communications processors or relays via fiber-optic links.

2 Independent RTD Inputs

A single module can monitor up to 12 thermal points simultaneously, providing high design flexibility.
Support for Multiple RTD Types

Compatible with various RTD materials, including 100 ohm platinum, 120 ohm nickel, 100 ohm nickel, and 10 ohm copper, all within a single module.
Wide Measurement Range and Accuracy

Measures temperatures from -50°C ~ +250°C with an accuracy of +/-2°C.
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Immunity

Utilizes fiber-optic communications (up to 500 m with V-pin or 1,000 m with ST connectors) to ensure stable signal transmission without data errors in high-noise environments.
Additional Contact Input

Supports one dry contact input (maximum 15 Vdc) to transmit equipment status information alongside temperature data.
Data Security

Binary data packets transmitted approximately every 0.6 seconds are secured by CRC-16 error checking to ensure data integrity.

Reduced Installation Costs

Because the module can be placed next to the equipment, there is no need for multiple long runs of expensive, dedicated RTD cabling to the control room, significantly reducing material and labor costs.
Intelligent Sensor Diagnostics

Automatically detects open- or short-circuit conditions in the RTD sensors, allowing for immediate resolution of sensor problems.
Intuitive Status Indication

Front-panel LEDs (ENABLED, INPUT) allow for immediate on-site verification of the module's operational status and input activity.
Rugged Environment Capability

Meets the same stringent environmental standards as protective relays and is designed for safety in hazardous locations (Explosion Hazard).
Flexible Power Options

Available in two models: the SEL-2600A, which supports 120/240 Vac or 125 Vdc, and the SEL-2600D, which supports low-voltage DC.
