SEL-5703 Synchrowave Monitoring
Real-Time and Historic Trending and Archiving
- SEL-5703 is an intelligent software platform designed for real-time power system monitoring and precise disturbance analysis. It integrates synchrophasor data, continuous waveform streams, and relay event reports into a single system. This allows operators to utilize high-resolution time-series data—often unavailable in traditional SCADA systems—to monitor system stability and quickly identify the root causes of events.
Key Features
-
Integrated Data Visualization
Analyzes wide-area system behavior via synchrophasor data alongside detailed oscillography (fault waveform) data on a single screen. -
High-Resolution Disturbance Detection
Precisely identifies transients, subsynchronous oscillations, rapid voltage changes (RVC), and harmonic distortions induced by the increasing integration of inverter-based resources (IBR). -
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
Provides easy data export features to meet incident recording and evidence requirements for industry standards such as NERC PRC-002-2, PRC-028-1, and IEEE 2800. -
Precision Energy Measurement and Analysis
Verifies accurate energy exchange status through 1 ms or 10 ms energy packet analysis, even during significant frequency distortions or phase angle shifts. -
Continuous Waveform Recording
Streams and records waveform data in real-time at high sampling rates of 3 ksps or 14.4 ksps to ensure no system disturbances are missed.
Convenience features
-
Web Browser-Based Access
Enables remote monitoring via modern web browsers like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge without requiring additional software installation. -
Intuitive Timeline Navigation
Allows users to explore real-time waveforms with seamless zooming and panning, covering everything from microsecond (us) changes to long-term trends over several days. -
Automated Archiving and Visualization
Integrates with Blueframe DMA or ACSELERATOR Database to automatically archive large volumes of event reports and visualize them instantly when needed. -
Customizable Alarm Settings
Helps operators quickly recognize critical situations by triggering immediate alarms when system conditions exceed user-defined thresholds. -
Flexible System Configuration
Runs on standard server environments (Windows 10, 11, or Windows Server 2016–2022) and scales easily from single-circuit monitoring to large-scale multi-circuit monitoring (up to 96 channels).
